School Notes:

  • Since 1814, Emma Willard School has been one of the nation's leading college preparatory boarding and day schools for young women. At Emma Willard every possible resource is dedicated to helping students develop the values and skills that form the foundation of a life of accomplishment, leadership and fulfillment.
  • GirlSummer is dedicated to providing an exciting and stimulating academic environment, based on the philosophy that summer fun and learning go hand-in-hand. Groups of like-minded young women come together to live, laugh and learn at one of the most prestigious independent schools in the country. The positive benefit of the increased opportunities and new friendships that blossom during camp cannot be overstated.
  • Emma Willard School offers summer programs for girls of many ages. EWS has created three two-week overnight GirlSummer Residential Program sessions for older girls entering grades 7-12. Now entering its third year, our extraordinary Summer Academic Enrichment Program features nine distinct academic tracks. Our original GirlSummer Day Program for girls ages 6–13 offers an athletic experience comparable to sports camps, along with varied offerings in art, dance, drama, and writing. Use our application form or gift certificate to send your favorite girl to GirlSummer.
  • All three summer sessions include program specific off-campus academic field trips, one of which is a trip to Manhattan. Fine Arts students visit the museums, performing arts students go to a show, Mock Trial students visit City Hall and the Courts... every year we come up with exciting new adventures for our students.
  • The staff is the heart of our camp. We find smart, outgoing, knowledgeable role models and mentors for our summer students. Our staff always gets rave reviews and they make sure each girl has a fantastic experience! Regardless of their chosen academic track, all girls hang out together at night and on weekends. Nights and weekends are some of the best parts of the whole summer.
