- For over 10 years, Bryn Mawr’s three-week residential Writing for College program has prepared high school age young women – rising sophomores, juniors, seniors, and recent graduates to write well for college in a program that is intensive, supportive and fun.
- The academic, recreational and college preparatory dimensions are interwoven to create an integrated experience whose aim is to build a community of writers. All experiences, including seminars, workshops, tutorials, student readings, field trips, college visits, guest writers/speakers and personal interactions, work together to challenge and stimulate the community.
- Writing for College will be offered in two writing-intensive strands: Creative Writing and Urban/Environmental Studies. Though the content of the readings and screenings, the focus of the writing, and the field trips for the strands will vary, the program’s emphasis on college-level writing is consistent across the strands.
