School Notes:

  • Consistently recognized as one of the premier research universities in the world, Carnegie Mellon has educated some of the most distinguished inventors and innovative leaders in the last century. We're about creating students who can view life through a wide variety of lenses and who leave here prepared to make an important and lasting impact on society.
  • One of the best ways to learn about Carnegie Mellon is to spend time on campus. Our summer Pre-College programs will show you what life here is all about -- from the classroom to what's happening on the weekends. We offer you the opportunity to experience college in a diverse environment -- in the social and educational sense. A chance to be inspired by our world-renowned faculty, the excitement of campus life and the opportunity to explore the city of Pittsburgh.
  • Advanced Placement/Early Admission (AP/EA) is a challenging summer credit program for high school students interested in taking Carnegie Mellon classes. The classes are actual university courses, condensed and accelerated to fit into a six-week program from June 26 to August 5, 2005.
  • The credit you earn in the AP/EA program can give you a head start in college. At Carnegie Mellon, the academic units earned in the AP/EA program can be applied toward graduation requirements. Although in most cases these units also can be transferred to other colleges or universities, some schools do have rules limiting the transfer of summer Pre-College courses. At the end of the program, you will have the opportunity to decide which grades you would, or would not, like to be kept on permanent record at Carnegie Mellon.
